Tour de France – Utrecht Depart – Netherlands – Airsupport
With the help of Flightradar24 you have a nice impression of the way how the Tour de France live report is supported from the air. Two Beech E90 King Air planes, flight number ASR1712 and ASR1713 make images from about 23,990ft. One, in this case the ASR1712, registration F-GHUV made images from scenic areas, like the mills at Kinderdijk, while the ASR1713 followed the tour equipes. For the routes followed see the referring images. Two pipers PA-31-350, registration F-HODB and F-HPIX are following the tour at about 14,000ft. We assume these coordinate the communications / transmission of the live images from helicopter and motor bikes on the ground, since these planes follow the tour over a wider area. Low level a helicopter makes the images of the tour racers more in close up.
