Beste members,
De samenwerking tussen ATCBOX, Stichting Hoogvliegers en daarbij ook behorend ondertussen Classic Wings begint zijn vruchten af te werpen en zo werden we vanavond gebeld door Rob de Man van Classic Wings dat hij speciaal en exclusief voor ATCBOX members 4 (vier) plaatsen beschikbaar stelt in de Antonov 2 a.s. zondag (11 mei) om vanaf Lelystad naar Midden Zeeland airport te vliegen (en terug) om het evenement 'Wings & Wheels' mee te kunnen maken.

Verzamelen op Lelystad om 09:30 om vervolgens om 10:00 het luchtruim te kiezen met DE Antonov-2. Vluchtduur naar Midden Zeeland is ongeveer 1 uur. Daar het spectacel meemaken en dan 's-middags weer terug (wederom een uur) en dit alles voor een zeer gunstige prijs VER beneden kostprijs. 2 uur Antonov-2 ervaring met nog een leuke happening op EHMZ ook. Ik verzeker u, voor de prijs hoeft u het niet te laten.
Interesse? Email mij en ik regel het verder.... ik zal zelf ook mee vliegen.

Member Badcop linked to a crash movie.
"The crew of DC-9-51 N736NC reported loss of right hydraulic system fluid quantity during the climb to cruise after takeoff from Columbus, Ohio. Upon landing at MSP, the aircraft cleared the runway and began the taxi to its gate. Shortly thereafter, the crew reported that a total loss of steering and braking occured. The aircraft impacted the right wing of Northwest A319 N368NB, which was pushing back off gate G10. Both cockpit crew members aboard the DC-9 were seriously injured; the remaining passengers on both aircraft were uninjured."

The server has to be upgraded (i.e. from php4 to php5 and some other things). This will cause some downtime tonight!
Sorry for the inconvenience but we'll be back as soon as possible.

De server moet hoognodig wat upgrades hebben (bv. php4 naar php5 en nog wat dingen). Dit zal enige downtime veroorzaken vanavond!

Hoogvliegers: Hoogvliegersdag Groningen - 17 mei 2008

Beste Members,
17 mei a.s. zal er wederom een grote Hoogvliegersdag namens de Stichting Hoogvliegers plaatsvinden op het vliegveld Groningen (Eelde) Airport (EHGG).
Dit is een besloten evenement maar exclusief voor ATCBOX members is er een mogelijkheid gecreeërd om aan 10 mensen speciale toegang te verlenen en te komen met de Antonov 2 van Classic Wings.
Lees dit forum topic voor meer informatie en stuur een mailtje als u interesse heeft om een Hoogvliegersdag van dichtbij mee te maken.
Naast het feit dat 100 kinderen zullen vliegen zijn er allerei neven aktiviteiten zoals de HCC Flight Simulator club, Torenbezoek is mogelijk, Frank Versteegh die aanwezig zal zijn, demo van een paraclub etc.. etc..... m.a.w. absoluut de moeite waard dus overweeg het.......

Standalone means you only have to download the .exe file, put it somewhere on your harddisk and run it. No installation required, it works just fine. (Goldmembers only)

Today a colleague showed me a new B737NG Performance Handbook, which he has written and as I was pretty impressed by the way it felt and looked, with high quality content, I wanted to show this book to any of you who has high interest in the B737NG performance. The book can be used by both professional pilots and 737-enthusiasts.
"This handbook is written for airline pilots flying the Boeing 737 Next Generation, but may also be very interesting for pilots flying other large twinjets and for everyone else who is interested in aircraft performance.
The PRH explains general performance regulations for large civil twinjets as well as performance data and application methods for the Boeing 737NG in special. Even for those pilots among you having computerized tools available for performance computations, the PRH may still serve as a source of information to keep you familiar with the full meaning of the calculations you have (or your computer has) made.
